Poland is returning the 200-meter buffer zone and sending new units to the border with Belarus. This was announced in Dubicze Cerkiewne by Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz and Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

“Today those who serve recommended us to return as quickly as possible the 200-meter buffer zone in the 200-meter strip, where it is necessary for the effective actions of government services at the border. Together with the Minister of Defense and the Minister of Internal Affairs and together with the entire government, we will make this decision early next week,” Tusk said.

Also, police forces will be more actively involved in areas where mass breakout attempts are taking place. Tusk stressed that there is no doubt that the aggression of migrants is not random and is growing. According to him, these are methods of hybrid warfare aimed at destabilizing Poland and Europe.

“The army is the most represented formation: 5.5 thousand soldiers. Yesterday, by decision of the General Commander of the Armed Forces, more platoons were sent from the most experienced units, the most experienced commandos of the 6th Airborne Brigade, the 25th Airborne Brigade, and additional resources were deployed,” Kosiniak-Kamysz said.
