Trump Comes Down On Putin's 'Peace' Plan

And says he will end the war in Ukraine before his inauguration.

Former US President and candidate for the post of America's leader Donald Trump called Putin's "peace" proposal on Ukraine unacceptable for the US.

He said this at a debate with US President Joe Biden on CNN.

"No, they are unacceptable. But this war should not have started," Trump said when asked by the debate host whether the conditions put forward by Vladimir Putin to end the war in Ukraine were acceptable to him.

At the same time, he did not answer specifically whether he would agree to Russia keeping the occupied parts of Ukraine if that would end the war.

Trump assured that he would be able to end the war even before he became president.

"I will make sure the war is resolved between Putin and Zelensky," Trump stated.

He also said Putin would not have put troops into Ukraine if America was run by a politician the Russian president would respect.

"As far as Russia and Ukraine is concerned, if we had a real president, a president that Putin respected, he would never have invaded Ukraine," the US presidential candidate said.

In addition, Trump repeated his previous statements that Europe spends much less than the US on supporting Ukraine. At the same time, he did not say whether he would be against Ukraine joining NATO.
