Latvian Manufacturer Of ‘Pills For Nerves’ Announces Exit From Belarus

The company is reorienting itself to the Western market.

The Latvian drug manufacturer JSC Olainfarm plans to exit the Russian and Belarusian markets, Latvian Radio quotes the chairman of the company's board, Janis Buks.

The company's most famous drugs that can be purchased in Belarusian pharmacies include Adaptol (helps with neurotic disorders), Neuromedin (used for diseases of the nervous system), and Furasol (for infections).

According to Buks, the Russian and Belarusian markets are outdated for the company. Olainfarm is currently developing a new portfolio of drugs with which it could enter the Western market and completely exit the markets of countries that are directly or indirectly involved in the war in Ukraine.

The creation of an updated portfolio of drugs takes at least four to six years.
