The German government’s tactics of supporting Ukraine but “not irritating” dictator Vladimir Putin have failed, says Marion Horn, the Editor-in-Chief of BILD, accusing Berlin of “hare cowardice.” In an article for her publication, she commented on information about a Russian plot to assassinate Rheinmetall head Armin Papperger, noting that Germany has the only response to this — sending long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine.

“Putin must feel that his actions have consequences every time he is caught trying to kill in our country. I expect that our government will now do everything in its power to end the dependence on US intelligence,” the media quoted Horn. “This means a complete technological and personnel modernization of the intelligence services to put an end to voluntary German blindness.”

She noted that Chancellor Olaf Scholz agreed that Russia is the main enemy at the NATO summit in Washington, but at home, the politician continues to adhere to the position that he is the “Chancellor of Peace.” The speaker called this cowardice, emphasizing that everyone wants peace, but in the case of the Russian Federation, it can only be achieved from a position of strength.

“Putin does not take Germany’s cowardice seriously. But Scholz and the SPD are still stuck in yesterday, says Horn. “By doing so, they put our security and freedom in Europe at risk.” I don't want to wake up in a country where Putin is in power. And my children too. Even 10% peace is 10% more than needed.”
