WSJ: NATO Has Plan For Ukraine In Case Of Trump's Victory

About 700 US and other Alliance nations troops will be involved.

NATO has developed measures aimed at helping Ukraine in the event of Donald Trump winning the US presidential election.

WSJ writes about this.

In particular, NATO plans to send a senior official to Ukraine as part of new measures aimed at strengthening long-term support for Ukraine. NATO is also creating a new command in Wiesbaden, Germany, to coordinate the supply of military equipment to Kyiv and the training of Ukrainian troops.

The publication also reports that the operation, which will be called “NATO Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine,” will involve about 700 US and other allied troops, who will take over much of the mission that the US military carried out after the start of the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The publication quotes US Ambassador to NATO Ivo Daalder as saying that NATO, not the US, will be responsible for military assistance and training, “so even if the US reduces or stops support for these efforts – the assistance will not stop.”
