Belarus Is Preparing For Drone Attacks On Refineries And Gas Pipelines

A large-scale exercise of civil defense forces and means started at the training ground near Borisov.

More than 270 specialists and 130 units of equipment took part in them. The forces of 12 civil defense services, representing the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Communications, Ministry of Information, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Housing and Communal Services, Ministry of Agriculture and Belneftekhim, were involved.

One of the episodes of the exercise was the elimination of the consequences of drone attacks on energy facilities. In particular, they practiced working with a ground gas pipeline damaged by drones, as well as actions in the event of drone attacks on oil product tanks.

After localization and extinguishing the fire by EMERCOM workers, the emergency team began restoration work. For temporary sealing of the damaged section, a bandage method was used - a modern technology that allows to quickly stabilize the situation without disconnecting consumers. At the same time, specialists used gas analyzers to control the safety level and exclude re-ignition.

The final stage was the replacement of the damaged pipeline segment to fully restore the gas distribution system's operability.

Ukraine has already hit a significant part of Russian refineries, which Kiev has the technical capabilities to attack. This means that the issue of the two refineries in Belarus - in Novopolotsk and Mozyr - which are now operating at full capacity to supply fuel to the European part of Russia, may soon come up on the agenda (and may already have).

The supply of gasoline by rail from Belarusian refineries to the Russian domestic market has risen to 14,500 barrels per day. Diesel fuel supplies in September amounted to 33 thousand tons.
