Moscow Region's Zhukovsky Was Left Without Electricity After An AFU Drone Raid

The science town is located 20 kilometers southeast of Moscow.

On the night of November 1, Ukrainian drones attacked the Moscow region. Air defense forces "intercepted" a total of 11 drones, six of which were heading toward the capital, the Russian Defense Ministry and the city's mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported. Amid the raid, power went out in the town of Zhukovsky, southeast of Moscow, the city district administration said at midnight.

The authorities did not cite drone strikes as the cause of the outage, explaining that the power supply in Zhukovsky was disrupted "due to automatic shutdown of 10 kV equipment." Repair crews are setting up the supply of electricity under a backup scheme, the administration said. Images from Zhukovsky left without light are published by Astra, "Operative VSU" and "REN TV". In local publics people also reported an air alert over the city.

The science city of Zhukovsky is located 20 kilometers southeast of Moscow. It has an international airport of the same name at the experimental airfield Ramenskoye, which is one of the air harbors of the Moscow region. The airport is regularly closed due to Ukrainian drone activity.
