Ukrainian Military: Kupyansk Is Under AFU Control

Chief of the General Staff of the Russian armed forces Valery Gerasimov has once again lied about the "successes" of the Russian army on the front, claiming the "liberation" of Kupyansk in Kharkiv region.

He made such a statement during an alleged visit by Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to the command post of the aggressor country's West grouping.

The commander of the Russian grouping Zapad claims that Russian troops are "destroying" individual small groups of Ukrainian forces in the city, the propaganda agency RIA Novosti wrote on Thursday, November 20.

The Center for Strategic Communications noted that Kupyansk is under the control of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

"Actually, the only adequate response to the Russian 'liberation' of Kupyansk is a statement of the obvious from our military... 'Victory' which does not exist. A "liberation" that didn't happen. And the city, which as stood under Ukrainian control, is still standing," writes Spravdi.

Commander of the 429th separate regiment of unmanned systems Achilles Yury Fedorenko on the air of "Public Radio" on November 20 noted that the presence of the Russians in the city remains, but they do not control any neighborhood.

"The enemy had the opportunity for some time with their sabotage and reconnaissance groups to infiltrate into Kupyansk. However, despite this opportunity and partial use of the pipe in previous periods, the enemy failed to take possession of any neighborhood in Kupyansk. Its presence in some areas was concentrated somewhere to a greater extent, somewhere to a lesser extent, but the enemy was not able to take clear and firm control of any area where there were no representatives of the Defense Forces," Fedorenko said.
