US And Ukraine Say Progress At Talks In Geneva

Rubio claimed the "best meeting ever".
The head of the Ukrainian delegation at the talks, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak reported the completion of the first session of talks with the US delegation in Geneva and called it "very productive." He also announced a second meeting with European partners on Sunday.
"I want to confirm: we had a very productive first meeting with the distinguished American delegation. We made very good progress and are moving forward towards a just and lasting peace," Yermack wrote in Telegram.
"A second meeting will take place soon today, where we will continue to work on joint proposals with the involvement of our European partners. The final decisions will be made by our presidents," the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine said.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio called the meeting "the most productive and substantive to date."
"We have a very good working version, which has already been built on the basis of input from all stakeholders. We were able to go over some points and I think we made good progress," he said.
Rubio also said U.S.-Ukraine talks have been temporarily suspended to make changes to the "peace plan" proposed by the United States.
