Political Scientist Suzdaltsev Was Sentenced In Russia
Andrey Suzdaltsev

He was accused of slandering Lukashenko.

Moscow's Lefortovo court considered the case of Russian political scientist Andrei Suzdaltsev, who is accused of slandering Alexander Lukashenko (Article 128.1 part 2 and part 5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The punishment under this article provides for up to 5 years in prison, reports the Slovo Defensa (Word of Defense) Telegram channel.

The reason for the criminal case was his statements in the Telegram channel that Lukashenko "admired Hitler" and "speaking about the German-fascist genocide, actually covers up his terror and, in fact, is no different from the fascists of the 1940s."

The court sentenced Suzdaltsev to 400 hours of compulsory labor.

Politologist Suzdaltsev is a sharp critic of the Lukashenko regime, but from an imperial position.
