The head of the European Commission spoke about the release of political prisoners from Belarusian prisons.

Head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen commented on social network X the release from Belarusian prisons of 123 political prisoners:

"This development should strengthen our resolve. Determination to continue fighting for all prisoners who remain behind bars in Belarus because they had the courage to tell the authorities the truth," Ursula von der Leyen wrote on her microblog X.

"The fight for human rights and justice in Belarus must continue. Until the democratic hopes of the Belarusian people are fulfilled," added the head of the European Commission.
