Media: Lukashenko Refused To Transfer Political Prisoners Through EU Countries

Ukraine's president has revealed details of the release of the dictator's prisoners.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said that Alexander Lukashenko refused to hand over political prisoners to European Union countries and therefore turned to Ukraine, writes "Present Time".

"At the intelligence level, the countries communicated. Then the head of the GUR Kirill Budanov turned to me and said that the Belarusians are ready to give political prisoners, but do not want to give them through one or another country of the European Union, but if I support, are ready to give them through Ukraine. I said that we certainly support, we are ready to accept, because the issue of political prisoners is important," the Ukrainian leader said on Sunday aboard a plane flying to Berlin.

We would like to recall that yesterday Lukashenko released 123 political prisoners.

The released include Nobel Peace Prize laureate Ales Bialiatski, opposition politician Pavel Seviarynets, human rights activist Vladimir Lobkovich and a number of other prisoners of conscience.

The majority of those pardoned were forcibly taken to Ukraine.
