KGB Head: Protasiewicz "leaked" Protest Routes To Law Enforcers In 2020
Ivan Tertel

Tertel praised the former Project NEXTA member for his work.

KGB Chairman Ivan Tertel told what information was extracted abroad by ex-NEXTA project participant Roman Protasevich as an intelligence officer, BelTA reports.

- I confirm: yes, Protasevich is an employee of our foreign intelligence. This man worked on the territory of a number of states in a combat situation. He performed important tasks. Of course, I cannot talk about them. Probably, it will not be revealed to the end (as it happens in our profession). But his contribution was quite serious in a number of aspects," the KGB chief said.

In 2020, law enforcers daily discussed the possible actions of protesters, including their routes:

- There was a serious percentage of data in this information, which was extracted by Protasevich. Therefore, our law enforcement agencies acted confidently enough at that time, knowing how the situation would develop," said Tertel.

The head of the KGB also said that Protasiewicz passed to Lukashenko's special services data on meetings of former Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki with representatives of the Belarusian opposition.

Blogger Roman Protasiewicz is the former editor-in-chief of the telegram channels NEXTA and "Belarus of the brain. He later worked in the office of Svetlana Tikhanovskaya.

On May 23, 2021, a Boeing 737-8AS airliner of the Irish airline Ryanair, which Protasevich was on, was grounded in Belarus.

The blogger actively perjured himself against Belarusian political prisoners. On October 31, Lukashenko said that Protasevich worked for Belarusian intelligence.

It should be noted that the site Charter97.org wrote that Roman Protasevich could be an agent or even officer of the Belarusian intelligence services.
