A Woman From Minsk Stole A Pair Of Sneakers From A Friend And Showed Up At The Police Station Wearing Them

A curious incident occurred in the Moscow District of the capital.

The Minsk police reported that they had recently solved a theft case. However, they didn’t have to search for the stolen items. The suspect in the crime came to the police station herself wearing someone else’s sneakers, which she had taken.

The incident occurred in the Moskovsky District of Minsk. A woman contacted the district police department to report that her sneakers, which had been left in the entryway, had been stolen. Criminal investigators identified the person who might have taken them. The suspect turned out to be a 57-year-old Minsk resident.

“It has been established that the suspect was staying with a friend in the same building where the complainant lives,” reports the Telegram channel “Minsk Police.” — The woman had had a few drinks, and as she was walking down to the first floor, she noticed the vestibule door was open. The Minsk resident entered the apartment and took the pair of sneakers for herself. As she later admitted, she liked the sneakers and they fit her perfectly.

Investigators summoned the suspect for questioning. The woman arrived at the police station wearing the shoes she had stolen. A criminal case has now been opened against her.

“Do not leave personal belongings in common areas,” the police remind the public. “If you do keep personal belongings in the vestibule, be sure to lock the door.”
