Following The School Attacks, Police Inspected 10,000 Institutions Across Poland

Ten people have been detained.

Polish police have inspected more than 10,000 educational institutions following a series of armed attacks. Ten people have been detained in connection with online threats, and criminal activity has been identified in 13 cases. Cybercrime experts are monitoring the situation around the clock, according to “Polish Radio”.

Poland’s Minister-Coordinator of Special Services Tomasz Semoniak urged the country’s residents not to spread panic:
“We must act very responsibly. The safety of children, young people, teachers, and staff at educational institutions is an absolute priority. Our communication strategy in this area must also be responsible and measured, and every suspicious signal, every suspicion, must be reported to the police immediately.”

Among those detained are minors who posted death threats on social media.

Security measures were tightened following the attacks in Ostrołęka and Leszczydół-Nowiny. On October 7, a 19-year-old attacked people with a knife in Ostrołęka, injuring nine people. Also in Mazovia, in Serpc, law enforcement officers prevented an armed attack on a school. The next day, a 15-year-old attacked three school employees near Wyszków. A 37-year-old school employee was killed, and two other employees were injured.
