According to him, in the conflict with Iran, the US holds all the trump cards.
U.S. President Donald Trump says U.S. negotiators Steve Whitkoff and Jared Kushner will not travel to Pakistan for talks with Iran.
He said this on Saturday to a reporter Fox News at the White House.
Trump said there was no point for the U.S. delegation to take an 18-hour flight to Pakistan as the U.S. holds all the trump cards in the conflict with Iran. He added that the Iranians could call the US at any time.
"I told my people a little bit earlier when they were getting ready to leave: No, you're not going to fly there for 18 hours. We have all the trump cards. They can call us any time they want, but you're not going to be taking 18-hour flights to sit around and talk about nothing anymore," Trump said.
It was also reported that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi had already left the Pakistani capital Islamabad after Saturday's talks there with the country's prime minister.
