Polish Fighter Jets Intercept Russian Il-20 Over The Baltic Sea

Defense Minister Vladyslav Kosiniak-Kamysh revealed the details.

On Wednesday, May 13, Poland took to the skies with aircraft because a Russian Il-20 reconnaissance plane was detected over international waters in the Baltic Sea.

Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysh said this, Charter97.org reports Charter97.org citing his post on social networking site X.

"Our planes intercepted a Russian Il-20 reconnaissance plane over international waters in the Baltic Sea," the post reads.

The Polish minister said it was another aggressive action by Russia and a test of "our air defense systems." He emphasized that flights without turned on and transponders can pose a threat to other aircraft.

"Our pilots will respond immediately to any such provocation," Vladyslav Kosiniak-Kamysh summarized.
