To discuss the troop decision.
General Dan Kane, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the U.S. Armed Forces, will arrive in Warsaw next week to discuss the decision not to send a U.S. armored brigade to Poland.
This is reported by RMF 24.
General Kane's visit to Warsaw is scheduled for Wednesday and is generating huge interest in Poland. His arrival comes at a time when military relations between Warsaw and Washington have come under the spotlight following the sudden announcement by the United States not to send 4,000 military personnel to Poland.
The commander of U.S. ground forces, Gen. Christopher LaNeve, emphasized that given the instructions he received, canceling the sending of an armored brigade to Poland "was the most sensible option."
The information raised numerous questions about the future of the U.S. troop presence in Poland and the security of the entire region.
The Center Kosiniak-Kamysh assured that he and Kukula are in constant contact with General Hrynkiewicz.
Simultaneously, the deputy defense ministers - Cesarius Tomczyk and Pawel Zalewski - will be in the United States starting Monday. Their task will be to conduct negotiations at the international level and present the Polish position on the issue.
According to the arrangements, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will also join these activities, taking its own diplomatic initiatives.
LaNeve told the House of Representatives that he did not know whether Poland had been informed about the suspension of the planned transfer of the armored brigade. He also could not answer a question about whether there were plans to replace the brigade in Poland.
Politico reported that Pentagon officials were surprised by the decision.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, commenting on the issue, said everything was under control. Tusk also said he had received assurances that any decisions regarding the presence of U.S. troops would not affect Poland's security.
