It took more than an hour to read out the list of all political prisoners.
On May 21st an exhibition and a rally dedicated to the Day of Solidarity with Belarusian political prisoners were held on Cathedral Square in Vilnius.
Lithuanian Belarusians, former political prisoners, activists gathered to remind: there are still people behind bars in Belarus, convicted for their beliefs, civic position, journalistic work and the right to speak freely.
A list of all Belarusian political prisoners, who are now behind bars, with their terms was read out in the square. It took more than an hour to list them all. Portraits of political prisoners who died behind bars stood separately, reports "Nasha Niva".

A large white-red-white flag was unfurled on the square.
The date of the action is not accidental. Exactly five years ago, political prisoner Vitold Ashurok died in the Shklou colony.
The large stretching board has portraits of Belarusian political prisoners. Passers-by came up and looked at them.

From the very day an exhibition of art works created by former political prisoners and Belarusian artists was working on the square.

Part of the paintings and drawings were made directly in prisons and colonies.
The authors include Pavel Seviarynets, Andrei Voynich, Anatoly Khinevich, Olga Yakubovskaya, Xisha Angelova, as well as anonymous authors who cannot openly give their names.
