Zelensky: Lukashenko Should Be "toned Down" In Case Of Aggression

President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky said about strengthening the defense of the border from the north of Ukraine due to threats from the Bryansk region of the Russian Federation and Belarus.

He said this on Thursday, May 21, while in the town of Slavutich.

He said that today he met with community leaders of the Kiev and Chernihiv regions. The President added that the main task is to support the local population and strengthen defense.

"This applies to protective structures - fortifications and other things, strengthening of the border will be additional, also our Defense and Security Forces, which are in this direction - to Chernihiv and Kiev from the territory of neighbors in Belarus, which Russia very much wants to drag into this war more, and from Bryansk region," - said the head of state.

The President stressed that Ukraine has enough opportunities to strengthen defense and preventive measures in relation to the war in Ukraine. We remember that in the 22nd year there was an offensive from the territory of Belarus as well. We will not forget it. Ukrainian Defense Forces, Security Forces, our intelligence know what threats and how to respond, to respond fairly, of course," Zelensky added.

Earlier, dictator Alexander Lukashenko said that Belarus could be dragged into war "only if aggression is carried out on our territory."
