A Balloon Flew Into Ukraine From Belarus

On the evening of May 2, the Ukrainian military spotted a balloon crossing the border from the direction of Belarus. The speaker of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Andrey Demchenko said that the Russian military used this object as a signal repeater, writes "Ukrainska Pravda".

Andrey Demchenko said that at first border guards simply detected a certain aerial target, but later realized that it was a balloon. The agency believes that the Russian army used it to amplify the signal of its drones and other means of destruction, which it regularly fires at Ukrainian territory.

"The threat from Belarus never disappears... I can't openly disclose everything now, but we can expect or we can prepare for the fact that there will be attempts to destabilize the situation in the direction of our border, we do not exclude provocations," Demchenko said.

Relations about the balloon incident began immediately after Vladimir Zelensky mentioned some "specific activity" on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border on the afternoon of May 2. He assured that Kiev was closely watching what was happening and was ready to react if anyone tried to draw Minsk into aggressive actions against Ukraine.
