Zelensky warned Russians ahead of May 9.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, commenting on the situation on the eve of May 9, said in Telegram that he was grateful to the Ukrainian Defense Forces for the results of "long-range sanctions" on facilities on Russian territory and separately noted strikes on key targets in the country's interior.
The Ukrainian head of state said Ukrainian forces had carried out a number of strikes against Russian facilities, including targets in the Perm region and near the Caspian Sea.
He mentioned a missile ship capable of using Kalibras, as well as oil infrastructure at a considerable distance from the Ukrainian border among the targets hit.
Separately, Zelensky noted the results of the strikes on the Bryansk direction, Tuapse and other important facilities of Russia's oil industry.
The Ukrainian president recalled that Ukraine had offered a ceasefire, including from May 6, but, according to him, the response was followed by new attacks and threats from Russia.
He emphasized that Moscow, in his assessment, seeks to ensure the quiet conduct of events on May 9, after which, as the Ukrainian side claims, it may continue hostilities. Also, according to Zelensky, statements about possible strikes after this date are already being heard.
Zelensky called the rhetoric of the Russian leadership "inadequate logic" and said that a number of countries close to Russia are planning to send their representatives to Moscow for the May 9 events.
In this context, the Ukrainian president said, "We do not recommend being in Moscow," emphasizing the risks and the current security situation around this date.
