Trump Made A Radical Decision Regarding Drones In The U.S.

The U.S. President signed an executive order

U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order under which Washington is imposing tariffs on imports of drones and their components.

This was reported by Charter97.org, citing the White House website.

According to the notice, drones weighing more than 25 kg and models equipped with thermal imaging cameras will be subject to a 100% tariff. A 25% tariff will apply to smaller drones and other components.

At the same time, a 15% tariff will apply to products from the European Union, Japan, South Korea, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and Taiwan.

For the United Kingdom, a 10% tariff will apply, provided that nearly all hardware, software, and technology are manufactured in the aforementioned countries and the United States.

The tariffs will take effect 21 days after signing. However, for drone components that do not fall under the category of particularly sensitive items, the tariffs will take effect 180 days after signing.

“For products and components that the Department of Defense approves for exclusion from the list of goods and technologies subject to Federal Communications Commission (FCC) restrictions within 20 days of signing, the tariffs will take effect 180 days after signing,” the White House added.
