Ukrainian Drones Struck Oil Refineries In Ufa And Samara

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has revealed the details.
Ukrainian defense forces struck two facilities in the Russian oil refining industry. These were oil refineries in Ufa and Samara, where fires were reported following the strikes.
This was reported by Charter97.org, citing a statement from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
On the night of September 22, units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck the “Bashneft-UNPZ” oil refinery in Ufa, Republic of Bashkortostan. A fire broke out on the refinery’s premises following the strike.
The refinery has a capacity to process approximately 7.5 million metric tons of crude oil annually. The facility produces gasoline, diesel, and heating oil, liquefied gases, sulfur, and other petroleum products.
Another target of the attack was the Kuibyshev Oil Refinery in Samara. A fire was also reported on the plant’s premises.
The Kuibyshev Refinery is part of PJSC “Rosneft Oil Company” and is one of the largest oil refineries in Russia’s Samara Group. Its capacity is approximately 7 million metric tons of crude oil per year. The plant produces gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel oil, and more than 30 other types of petroleum products.
As noted in the General Staff’s statement, the products of both facilities are used to meet the needs of the Russian army.
The Defense Forces stated that strikes against such facilities are aimed at reducing Russia’s military and economic potential. They also noted that Ukraine’s actions constitute the exercise of its right to self-defense in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter.
