Head of “house of representatives” on recognition of Abkhazia and S. Ossetia: “Let’s not hurry”

During the today’s visit of Vladimir Putin to Minsk, the sides are to discuss a possible recognition of state independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia by Belarus.

It is known that Alyaksandr Lukashenka has earlier said that this issue could be considered by the new Belarusian “parliament”.

As Radio Svaboda reminds, after the “house of representatives” of the forth convocation was elected, journalists asked acting speaker Vadzim Papou, who is running for the “council of the republic”, by the way, when the new “parliament” would be able to consider this issue. Papou answered:

“You addressed this question to the new parliament, not to me. It will depend on the newly elected “MPs”, who soon it will be formed. The only thing I can say is that 30 acting deputies will continue their work in the new convocation. They will consolidate the new MPs for constructive work.

So, let’s not hurry and make a fetish out of this issue.”
