Russian Ambassador threatens in Belarus again

8

Russian Ambassador to Belarus Alexander Surikov does not exclude that the Belarusian side is to take part in discussion on the issue of Russia’s actions in response to deploying elements of anti-missile system in Poland.

Commenting on signing an agreement between Poland and the US the day before, the ambassador noted that it is to be ratified by the Polish parliament still. A. Surikov supposed that Polish parliamentarians could have questions as for this treaty.

“If it would be approved, we shall discuss this topic inside the country first, and then we do not rule out that the Belarusian side would take part in the discussion on this issue,” the Ambassador told to Interfax.

The US and Poland struck a deal Thursday that will strengthen military ties and put an American missile interceptor base in Poland.

The document was signed by the U.S. Undersecretary of State John Rood and Deputy Foreign Minister of Poland Andrzej Kremer.

The US is set to place anti-missile system in the Czech Republic and 10 interceptors in Poland as a defense from supposed missile threat from Iran.

Earlier Russian Ambassador to Belarus said that missile launchers Iskander or strategic bombers could be deployed in Belarus.
