Only “reliable” people in election commissions in Brest

Executive posts in constituency election commissions in Brest were given to former and acting representatives of the local authorities.

The local authorities used a trick to demonstrate the “democratic character” of the electoral process. As charter97.org learned, Halina Yanholenka was appointed chairperson of the election commission in the Brest-Tsentralny constituency No. 2, Inna Akimava was appointed secretary of the commission. They had the same posts during the previous “parliamentary elections”, but in Brest-Uskhodni Constituency No. 3. Constituency No. 2 was headed by Maria Kolbik and secretary Iryna Khazei. This year, they will organize the election in constituency No. 3.

It should be noted that Kolbik and Akimava are main specialists in the education department of the Maskouski district of Brest. Yanholenka and Khazei work in the education sector. Brest-Zakhodni constituency No. 1 is headed by Tatyana Naumavets (a pensioner), a former office manager of the administration of the Leninski district. Her colleague, office manager of the Maskouski district administration Nadzezhda Zaitsava was given a post of the co-head of the Brest-Pamezhny constituency No. 4.

The administration of the Maskouski district of Brest plays the key role in the elections in the city: its head office gives place to three constituency election commissions, which will have different phone numbers, but a common fax number.
