The date is known.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will visit Serbia for the first time and meet with its leader Aleksandar Vučić, according to RTS.
It is known that Vučić will receive his Ukrainian counterpart on Saturday, August 8.
This is Zelenskyy’s first official visit to Belgrade since taking office as President of Ukraine. The two leaders have previously met on several occasions at international forums and summits abroad.
Vucic stated that several important topics will be raised during his conversation with Zelenskyy:
Ukraine’s and Serbia’s European path,
bilateral economic cooperation,
and energy cooperation.
“I believe we will discuss how we can help each other on this issue (European integration—ed.) and, if possible, learn from one another,” Vucic said.
Vucic also emphasized that, in addition to these key issues, all other topics are open for discussion.
“This also applies to our cooperation in the fields of culture, sports, and everything else,” the president added.
When asked whether Zelenskyy’s visit meant that Serbia would join the sanctions against Russia, Vučić replied:
“Serbia defined its position four and a half years ago—almost five years ago—and it has not changed over the past period and will remain the same in the near future,” President Vučić stated.
