Belarusian Military Conducted Launchings Of "Point" Tactical Ballistic Missiles

Belarusian military conducted launchings of the "point" tactical complex missiles on a firing ground in Brest Region.

It is reported by the Defense Ministry's press service.

In accordance with the Plan of Training of the Armed Forces in the 2016/2017 training year, in the period from 13 to 17 February, there has been held a joint exercise of formations and military units of the Armed Forces, acting according to a single concept, at the site, which includes the territory of the former aviation ground Palesse.

Having marched to the site, the separate missile battalion of the 465 missile brigade proceeded with conducting the tactical exercise. The anti-aircraft and fighter cover for these activities is carried out by crews of the anti-aircraft missile troops and air fleet crews, and a unit of the radio-technical troops has been deployed to provide information on the situation in the air.

On February 16, during the active phase of the activities, they carried out combat launchings of the "Point" operational-tactical complex missiles, the crews of combat training aircrafts Yak-130 and MiG-29 fulfilled launches of guided missiles "air-to-air." In turn the squads of the anti-aircraft missile systems "Osa-AKM" and "Tor-M2" carried out missile launchings to engage the simulators of air targets, and the crews of the Mi-8 and MTV-5 helicopters, completed the tasks in accordance with the combat capabilities of aircraft.

The joint training has been attended by more than 500 servicemen, 200 pieces of equipment have been involved.

Holding of such events will allow for the testing and training of crews, who perform combat air defense tasks, as well as increasing the coherence of diverse forces and means, the Defense Ministry notes.
