Kremlin Believes EAEU Not To Fall Apart Because Of Lukashenka

Spokesman for the Russian president has commented upon the information about the threat of the EAEU downfall.

Dmitriy Peskov, the Spokesman for the President of the Russian Federation, has commented upon the information on the threat of the Eurasian Economic Union’s downfall due to the reinstatement of the border zone with Belarus, to gazeta.ru.

“We hope that [the downfall] remains unreal,” — he has said.

The EAEU includes Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, and Kyrgyzstan.

Previously, the media speculated on Belarus’ possible exit from the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and the “union state” of Belarus and Russia.

On February 1, the Russian Federal Security Service’s Director Alexander Bortnikov ordered to establish the limits of the border zone in Bryansk, Smolensk and Pskov regions alongside the Belarusian border.
