Minsk Says "Basta!"

Hundreds of stickers with an appeal to come to protest on Freedom Day appeared in the capital of Belarus.

Bright stickers with information about the place and time of the rally in Minsk – March 25, 14:00, the Academy of Sciences – can be seen in all the districts of the city. They are pasted up at the stops, near shops and markets, on lamp posts and doors of entrances. The slogan "Basta!" on the stickers was first heard on the March of disgruntled Belarusians last month.

"My friends and I were distributing stickers during the day around Niamiha district," – one of the activists told bnknews.org. – It was seen by many passers-by, by people at public transport stops. And no one objected or interfered with us. On the contrary, a lot of them expressed support. Even pensioners came up, shook hands, promised to come to the rally on March 25. One old lady – she was probably 80, – asked for two dozen stickers, promised to paste in the yard. I’ve come across such support for the first time.
