Belarus To Receive Twofold Less Russian Oil

Russia will supply 4,5 million tons of oil to Belarus in the third quarter compared to the previously intended 7 million tons.

Interfax.by was informed about this by the Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak.

In turn, the Belneftekhim concern reported that "deliveries will be carried out in accordance with the application of the Belarusian side."

As reported, in 2016, Russia reduced oil supplies to Belarus to 18,4 million tons due to disagreements in the approaches to determining the price for gas.

In the second quarter, the disagreements were settled. In the first quarter, Russia delivered 4 million tons to Belarus, and 5 million tons in the second quarter. Transneft's press secretary Igor Demin reported that 15 million tons will be delivered to Belarus in the second half of the year. It was presumed that 7 million tons of oil would be supplied to Belarus in the third and fourth quarter each.
