The Decree #1 has no judicial perspective.

Legal inspector of the independent trade union of the radio-electronic industry wworkers (REP) in the Homel region Leanid Sudalenkla gave a recommendation for all Belarusians who got listed as “social parasites”:

- My advise is, never admit defeat hastily! We all remember how some people let themselves be convinced by the officials last year, and rushed to pay the fee, and then they were returned their money!

It’s going to happen again. Being a specialist in the law sphere, I don’t see any judicial perspective in the second edition of the “parasitic” decree. I advise everyone who gets listed as a parasite in that database to start communication with those who included him or her there, and then sue.

The key argument remains unchanged: why one base fee is enough for the recognition of “employment in the economy”, while a citizen, who pays much bigger sums to the state for goods, services is not recognized as such?

In other words, I have not yet seen the logic of this division into “employed” and “non-employed”. This should be appealed in court, as it contradicts everyone’s Constitutional right to work or not to work.

It is possible and necessary to raise questions of discrimination on the grounds of occupation,” the interlocutor of the Charter97.org summarized.
