Radio Svaboda Journalist Vital Tsyhankou’s Son Detained In Minsk

The journalist’s son has arrived in Minsk from abroad to attend the holiday celebration.

Radio Svaboda journalist Vital Tsyhankou has reported this on his Facebook page:

"My son was detained at Yakub Kolas Square. He was taking photographs for his student project. He did not get in the thick of it, I advised him to stay away. They detained him near the monument to Yakub Kolas, where he was standing, and took him into a paddy wagon. When I tried to interfere, saying that I am his dad, and that I work at Radio Svaboda, they reacted that they would detain me as well.

The son has come to visit his homeland for one day, specially for the holiday," – Vital Tsyhankou wrote.
