Makei Arrived In Berlin And Heard Criticism Towards Belarusian Authorities

The German Foreign Ministry spoke about the "shortcomings" in our country.

On October 21, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Uladzimir Makei arrived in Berlin by Belavia flight. There he met with German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas.

After the talks, the foreign ministries published reports on the negotiations - and they are very different, Salidarnasts reports.

The Foreign Ministry of Belarus reported about the meeting in a positive manner. But the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany notes:

- Germany and the European Union make it quite clear that there are still shortcomings in Belarus in terms of the rule of law and pluralism... The parliamentary elections in November will be an indicator of the progress in political rights.

According to German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas, "it is extremely important to continue the program of reforms in Belarus on the way to becoming closer".
