Salihorsk "Mayor" Detained During Business Trip

Aleh Paskrobka has been detained in Minsk right in the building of the regional executive committee.

As it became known from sources to Nasha Niva, on June 17th, the "mayor" of Salihorsk, Aleh Paskrobka, was detained right in the building of the regional executive committee in Minsk.

According to the secretary of Salihorsk district executive committee, Paskrobka went to Minsk "on a business trip."

This is the second city head in two years, who gets into custody.

The Investigative Committee confirmed the fact of detention to Nasha Niva.

"The Investigative Committee has initiated a criminal case against the head of Salihorsk district executive committee.

Yesterday, on 17 June, he was detained by the police on suspicion of committing a corruption crime.

The detainee's actions are qualified under part 3 of article 426 (abuse of power) of the Criminal Code. The crime took place during the period of the suspect's work in the previous position. An investigation is underway," - the Investigative Committee noted.
