European Belarus Activist Leanid Kulakou Is Serving Days Of Arrest He Was Sentenced To Earlier

The activist has been having problems with high blood pressure lately.

Today, on August 6, at 7 a.m., the police detained Leanid Kulakou, activist of the European Belarus civil campaign, the website spring96.org reports.

Later Kulakou's girlfriend Maya Naumava informed the human rights activists that the activist had been taken away to serve the 15 days of administrative arrest.

Recently Leanid Kulakou has had big problems with high pressure, he takes medication and practically never leaves home.

On July 19, the Pershamaiski court of Minsk ruled to bring Kulakou to administrative responsibility under part 3 of article 23.34 of the Administrative Code (participation in an unsanctioned mass event).

There are two episodes in the case - participation of the activist in pickets to collect signatures for nomination of Siarhei Tsikhanouski as a candidate near the Kamarouski market on May 30 and 31.
