The Most Loss-making Flagships in Belarus

The final financial result of any business is a net profit or loss. Net loss usually appears when costs from current, investment and financial activities exceed revenues.

Sales of products usually have an impact on the bottom line of current operations. Payments on loans and borrowings, exchange rate differences can determine the net result of investing and financing activities.

Once a month, officials update information on the losses of loss-making companies in the regions. Since the data are released with a delay compared to the production figures, the figures for two months are available today.

In the Brest region, the share of loss-making companies increased from 22.2% to 28.9%. Losses of back-bone flagships amounted to 67.7 million BYN. The points of losses in the region are Brest (34 million BYN) and Baranavichy (8.6 million BYN).

In the Vitebsk region, the share of loss-making flagships rose from 22.4% to 23.3%. The sum of losses of these enterprises in the region amounted to BYN 139.7 million. The points of losses in the Vitebsk region are Vitebsk (89.2 million BYN) and Miory district (15.3 million BYN).

In the Homel region, the share of loss-making flagships increased from 16.2% to 17.2%. The volume of losses of unprofitable companies in the region reached 50.3 million BYN. The points of losses in the Homel region are Homel (29.1 million BYN) and the Homel region (5.1 million BYN).

In the Hrodna region, the share of loss-making flagships decreased from 25.4% to 23.9%. The sum of losses of the largest enterprises in the region amounted to 95.2 million BYN. The points of financial losses are Hrodna (18.5 million BYN) and Astravets district (56.5 million BYN).

In the Minsk region, the share of unprofitable large and medium-sized companies increased from 25.4% to 26.2%. The number of losses in the region reached 107.8 million BYN. The points of losses are in Minsk (26.2 million BYN), Barysau (12.7 million BYN) and Maladzechna (12.1 million BYN) districts.

In the Mahiliou region, the share of unprofitable flagships rose from 24.2% to 26%. The number of losses in the region reached 80.6 million BYN. The points of losses in the Mahiliou region are Mahiliou (24.2 million BYN), Babruisk (20.3 million BYN), as well as Krychau district (11.7 million BYN) and Kastyukovichy district (9.6 million BYN).

In Minsk, the share of loss-making flagships increased from 26.4% to 30.1%. The number of losses reached 256.7 million BYN.
