The detained journalist is in an overcrowded cell.

Andrzej Poczobut, a political prisoner with coronavirus, urgently needs hospitalization. His wife Oksana told about this to Polish journalists.

According to his wife, cited by Radio Svaboda, Andrzej feels weak, he coughs and loses strength. Oksana says that her husband has heart problems, the rhythm is out of order. Previously, he often fainted, so now she is very worried about his condition since there is no proper medical care in the pre-trial detention center.

The journalist detained in the "case of Poles" is in an overcrowded cell, where 13 people are sitting. The room is stuffy, there is not enough air, there are lice. The wife fears that the heat, which is bad for people with heart disease, could worsen Poczobut's condition.

The SIZO administration made an exception for him - they allowed him to lie on a bunk for two hours during the day. The rest of the day he must either stand or walk. Earlier, the prisoners reported that the "political" ones cannot sit or lie from 6:00 to 22:00 in the pre-trial detention center.

Poczobut and the head of the Union of Poles, Andżelika Borys, refused to leave Belarus, as other detainees in the "case of Poles" did. Therefore, they remain in custody.
