The athlete has arrived at Narita airport.

Belarusian track and field athlete Krystsina Tsimanouskaya left the Polish Embassy in Tokyo. This is reported by TASS.

According to the agency, on Wednesday morning, Krystsina Tsimanouskaya arrived at Narita airport by police minibus.

Tsimanouskaya went to check in at the VIP terminal, where among the media only Japanese journalists accredited at the airport have access. The reporters, capturing on video Krystsina Tsimanouskaya's arrival, tried to ask questions, but the athlete walked past them silently.

Earlier, Tsimanouskaya had left the Polish embassy in Tokyo. She had been at the diplomatic mission since August 2. On the same day she was issued a Polish visa.

Her getting into the car was carried out behind closed gates, out of sight of journalists.

The car with Tsimanouskaya was accompanied by two other unmarked police vehicles. The athlete was escorted by employees of the Polish Embassy, who, as a source familiar with the situation told TASS, would fly with her to Warsaw.

The situation around the athlete

On August 1, representatives of the Belarusian Foundation for Sports Solidarity reported that Krystsina Tsimanouskaya was being forcibly removed from Tokyo because she had criticized the actions of the coaching staff of the Belarusian track-and-field athletes. Krystsina Tsimanouskaya told Euroradio that she was going to apply for asylum in Europe. In addition, the athlete appealed to the International Olympic Committee in social networks asking to mediate in the situation and help her. According to the athlete, she was put under pressure, they were trying to take her out of Japan without her consent.

Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Marcin Przydacz said on Monday that Tsimanouskaya had received a Polish humanitarian visa.
