Political Prisoner Natallia Hersche Transferred From Colony To Prison

The Swiss citizen has been illegally behind bars for more than a year.

Swiss citizen Natallia Hersche, a political prisoner, was transferred from the colony to prison in Homel. Natallia's brother Hennadz Kasjan informed Radio Svaboda about it.

"The colony's proposal to transfer her to prison has been satisfied," they informed Natallia's brother in the Chyhunachny district court of Homel. The off-site court hearing was held on September 24 in the penal colony, where Hersche is serving her sentence.

Natallia has been kept behind bars for more than a year: she was detained on September 19, last year, after the women's march and sentenced to 2.5 years for taking off the balaklava from the policeman.

While in prison, Hersche refused to sew uniforms for the law enforcement officers, for which she was punished by the solitary confinement and ward-type room.

Her brother also said that Natallia was asked several times to write a pardon petition, but she refused.
