"Problems Started At 3 AM": What Is Known About Malfunction At Belarusian Railways

The Minsk hub has switched to manual mode of operation.

Yesterday, there was a failure on the servers of the Belarusian Railway. So, for example, it's impossible to buy tickets online. But the problem is not only with online booking.

The railway strike committee told "Nasha Niva" that the problems began at three o'clock in the morning.

Not only the online ticketing service, but a number of internal systems are not working. According to them, the Minsk hub is now being run in manual mode.

Passengers also report that they cannot get precise details about the schedule.

"The mobile application and the boards at some stations don't work," noted one passenger.

Journalists called the railway press office to clarify the situation and reasons for the failure, but no one picked up the phone.

Earlier, an association of hackers had claimed responsibility for the failure of the Railways. They claim to have encrypted the bulk of the servers, databases of the Belarusian Railway "with the aim of slowing down and disrupting the work of the road".

They add that automation and security systems were not affected so as not to create any emergency situations on the railway. In order to return the operation to normal, the association set conditions: the release of 50 political prisoners who need urgent medical care and stopping the deployment of the Russian military on the territory of Belarus.
