Russian Army Retreating Under Pressure Of AFU Near Kherson

They are trying to cover the flight of the main units with paratroopers.

Part of the Russian units are fleeing from the right bank of Kherson region. At the same time, paratroopers have been sent to this direction to cover the main forces of the Russian army so that they could get out with minimal losses.

Oleksandr Musiyenko, head of the Centre for Military and Legal Studies and a military expert, has informed Channel 24 about this. He said that Russia had moved part of the landing force to the right bank of Kherson.

According to him, this landing force is trying to hold the front line near Beryslav after the occupants lost control of Davydiv Brid.

"Fighting is going on there. In fact, it looks like Putin has ordered to stand to the end, without regard to losses and consequences in Kherson Oblast," he said.

The military expert assured that there is another situation, which even Surovikin talks about - to stand to the end does not mean to hold it. In addition, the Russians have problems with disrupted logistics.

"One can see that the Russian troops are switching to a 'cover' operation - they are trying to hold back the positions of the Ukrainian troops by as much as possible until the main groups with armoured vehicles which they have left near Kherson retreat," Musiyenko said.

In his opinion, Russian troops are now trying to organize pontoon and ferry crossings to move their forces to the left bank of Kherson Region.

"One can see how the occupants are gradually retreating along the Kherson direction, but hostilities continue there. In particular, the village of Snigurivka is still temporarily under Russian control," he added.

The military expert believes that as of today the strategy of depleting the occupant in that direction is working. There are fewer and fewer forces and means to hold back the Ukrainian military there.

Musiyenko stressed that the role of the Russian landing force is likely to be reduced to covering the retreat of the main groups and making the gradual leaving of the Kherson direction taking minimal losses for the Russian troops.
