Belarusian Defence Ministry Accuses Ukraine Of 'Deliberate Provocation'

Lukashists have voiced two "official versions" of the missile fall in Brest region.

The Belarusian Defence Ministry seriously considers "deliberate provocation" on the part of Ukraine as one of the versions of why a missile fell in the Brest Region border area.

In the morning of December 30, the ministry published an official commentary of Colonel Kiryl Kazantseu, head of the anti-aircraft missile forces.

"As noted earlier, a target coming from the Ukrainian side has been hit by the air defence forces in Ivanava District. The combat units carried out their work in an orderly manner. However, there are still questions about this incident, and we are considering two versions: an unintentional launch of an anti-aircraft guided missile due to low training of the crew, or a missile malfunction, or a deliberate provocation by the Ukrainian Armed Forces," Kazantseu said.

We remind you that on December 29, Russia launched a massive missile attack on Ukraine - an air alert was declared in the country. Explosions were reported in Kharkiv, Kyiv and Lviv. At the same time, some of the missiles were successfully shot down by Ukrainian air defence.

Later it was reported that a missile was found in the field near the village of Harbakha in Ivanava district of Brest region. This was later confirmed by the Belarusian authorities.

The Belarusian Defense Ministry said that "the missile arrived from Ukrainian Zabolotia not far from the border in the morning. The Belarusian Foreign Ministry sent a note of protest to the Ukrainian ambassador in connection with the missile landing and demanded to investigate the incident and bring the perpetrators to justice.

According to the Belarusian side, the S-300 missile was fired from the Ukrainian side and shot down by the air defense forces in the airspace of our country between 10 and 11 am. This is exactly the time of the Russian missile attack.

This circumstance was also stressed by the Ukrainian Defence Ministry. They do not rule out the possibility that the missile could have been a provocation by Russia to drag Belarus into the war. Ukraine is ready to conduct an international investigation into the incident, but without the participation of the countries supporting Russia.
