Putin's Removal: Russia Sends 'Signal' To The West

The head of the Kremlin is detached from reality.

The self-destruction of the Putin regime is already underway. They can no longer understand that such a policy hastens their downfall. Sane people who can adequately assess the situation would at some point stop and at the very least offer some options. If we are being offered the option of capitulation on Russia's terms, it means the regime has very little logic.

Last week, members of two Russian local governments - in Moscow and St. Petersburg - issued official statements calling for the resignation of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. On September 12, their colleagues from other regions joined them.

I believe such deputies, activists, and journalists send signals to the West foreseeing the end. They say we are ready to initiate the removal of the regime from power.

Then we will continue to negotiate, most likely on your terms. Since the AFU puts them on pause in the literal sense, it will be almost impossible to demand anything.

That is, certain forces give direct signals to the West through such things - let's think about what will be after Putin. Then we will only be looking for compromises to preserve either this Russia in its present form or at least its wreckage but in a way that we, our loved ones, will not suffer much.

It is not for the patriots and chauvinists who play wise in Russian blogs to decide what will happen to the Russian Federation. There are powerful financial and economic groups who are well aware of the prospect if power, God forbid, ends up in the hands of these patriots. It will be a 100 per cent collapse. These groups will negotiate on economic interests to save themselves and their fortunes from a total collapse. It has already begun. They feel it.

I think there will be a combination of the interests of some of the power and the economic part, which will find a way to make peace, retreat, just so as not to drive Russia to total collapse.

Actions of the collective West are the core issue. Will it let all this go down on the half-brakes and get to the point where Russia will then start to rise again? Or the line when Russia will face an economic collapse and, accordingly, the inability to threaten its neighbours will prevail.

What about Putin? I think he is absolutely out of touch with reality right now. Under such circumstances, sane people would begin to do practical reasonable things. Putin's mental health situation is complex. Or he is already under the supervision and not provided with unbiased information about the situation, to drive him into a deadlock and then use it to show that he is inadequate and needs resignation. The option is viable. Or he has concentrated so much power in one hands that he cannot accept all the information he receives. If he concentrates all the control over operations he knows nothing about, it means he's insane.

Vladimir Ogryzko, Novoe Vremya
