Kupala Theatre Actor Pokes Fun At Lukashists Who 'Censored' Him In 'Pesniary'

The actor offered the officials a solution to the problem.

The photos of two Belarusian actors - Ruhor Piatrenka and Kupala Theatre actor Dzmitry Esianevich - were removed from the poster of the Belarusian-Russian TV series "Half an Hour Before Spring" about musician Uladzimir Muliavin and the ensemble "Pesniary".

As it turned out, Esianevich was removed from the film completely. His face is not visible in whole in any shot, the actor was blurred on the wide shots, and his name was removed from the credits.

Esianevich commented on the censorship of his character as official Mikalai on the satirical ChinChinChenel152 telegram channel.

- Censorship is like a mixture - there is nothing wrong with it. Self-censorship, on the other hand, is a quality that cultural workers in our territory, especially artists, should have, so that afterwards nobody would have to spend budget money on you, on specialists who would blur you, censor you or re-voice you", he said.

"The way out was found from the folk remedies - an example of analogue self-censorship," Esianevich added and put a plastic bag over his head.
