AFU Eliminate Commander Of Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment Of Russian Army Using HIMARS

Destroying the enemy Osa SAM system in Kherson region, the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the same time eliminated the commander of the anti-aircraft missile regiment of the Russian occupation army. We are talking about Lieutenant Colonel Ruslan Atanov.

The Russian media dubbed his liquidation an "accidental death". The 'Spy's Dossier' Telegram channel writes about it.

"On January 14, 2024, following a strike by the AFU, the commander of the 2nd anti-aircraft missile regiment of the 104th Airborne Assault Division of the Russian Airborne Forces (the division was reconstituted on December 01, 2023 on the basis of the 31st SABr) Lieutenant Colonel Ruslan Atanov was killed," the report says.

According to the author of the channel, the target of the AFU strike was not the lieutenant colonel himself, but the Osa SAM system, which was deployed south of the village of Kazachi Lahery.

Having identified its location, the Ukrainian defenders struck using HIMARS MLRS.

"By pure coincidence, Lieutenant Colonel Atanov was at that moment inside the Osa SAM." Another heavy loss for the Airborne Forces following the death of Colonel Ospanov," said the author of the "Spy's Dossier" Telegram channel.

We remind you, the soldiers of the Defence forces of Ukraine destroyed the Osa SAM system, from which the Russian occupants were firing at Ukrainian positions in the south. The enemy hardware was hit by the US HIMARS system.
