Belarusian Intelligence: Lukashenka Is Furious Because Important Information Leakes

The dictator is sure that the "rats" are among security officials.

Lukashenka arrived in Moscow on the morning of May 8. Upon arrival from the airport, he heard unpleasant news: according to a closed communication, it was reported about the "leakage of information about the plan for conducting nuclear exercises by Belarusian troops", which was supposed to begin in Belarus under the command of Shoigu, writes the Belaruskaia Vyvedka ("Belarusian Intelligence") Telegram channel.

The very fact of publication and some details indicated in the report were very sensitive, since at the time of the report only a limited number of senior officers of the General Staff, both ministers of defence and heads of the Security Councils of both countries knew about them. In other words, the circle of people was very limited. The publicity of the information became an unpleasant surprise and in the future forced even Putin to justify himself on camera and blame Lukashenka, saying that he personally "asked for it". Apparently, Lukashenka discussed the trouble with Shoigu the next day, falling behind the ceremony. Later, Lukashenka continued to justify himself on camera several times in Moscow and later in Minsk.

It is known that the dictator was furious and immediately upon arrival, having completed the official ceremonies already in Minsk, gathered the leaders of the Security Council, the Ministry of Defence and the KGB. The Chief of the General Staff of the MoD was instantly dismissed from his post, since the version of the leak was confined to his subordinates and, despite the "reinforcements" and "purges", this was not the first time. There were suspensions, internal checks and transfers in the leadership of the Main Directorates of Counterintelligence and KGB Defence Counterintelligence of the KGB (for failing to counter the leaks).

Thus, the head of the counterintelligence department was transferred to the anti-corruption office. To date, an internal audit of all three departments is underway.

Lukashenka, for the first time in several years, openly demonstrated dissatisfaction with the work of the KGB leadership.

The dictator recognized the failure of the KGB leadership to regularly leak information about the work of his "headquarters" and especially about such a sensitive area as the deployment and use of the TNW, ordering to severely restore order in counterintelligence activities and the protection of state secrets.
