Ex-CIA Chief: Putin Made It Clear He Wants To Bring New War To Europe

David Petraeus has warned of the Kremlin’s cynical plans.

Former US Central Intelligence Agency chief David Petraeus has warned the West that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin does not intend to stop in Ukraine, where his victory would mean war against NATO.

He told The Sun that Ukraine’s Western allies must do more to win the war with Russia, as Putin has “made it very clear” that he wants to bring a new war to Europe. The former CIA chief also warned that the world “must listen” to Putin, as he “tells us what he believes.”

“The war in Ukraine could spread to the region if Putin succeeds in Ukraine. He will not be satisfied to stop on Ukraine. Moldova is obviously next. After that it could be Lithuania or one of the other Baltic states,” Petraeus said.

Petraeus also noted that one of the levers that will help Ukraine defeat Russia is the development of its own technologies.

“Remember, what they did in the Black Sea was not done by their ships or their sailors, but by their drones. Their sea drones, their air drones, and their anti-ship missiles allowed them to sink a third of the ships in the Black Sea Fleet,” Petraeus added.

However, Petraeus believes that the key to winning the war is for Ukraine to quickly increase its numbers and military power — with the help of its Western allies.

“The reality is complicated, and that’s another reason why we should do everything we can to help Ukraine in every way possible,” he concluded.
