Media: One Of Largest Refineries In Southern Russia Hit

New details of the massive drone attack on Krasnodar region.

On the night of June 21, Krasnodar region was subjected to a massive attack by Ukrainian drones. Civilian infrastructure facilities were hit, regional governor Veniamin Kondratiev said.

"A boiler station building near the Yuzhny bus station has been damaged in Krasnodar. Administrative buildings were damaged in Seversk district on the territory of the oil refinery," Kondratyev wrote on his Telegram channel.

As specified in the operational headquarters of the region, one of the drones fell on the territory of the Ilsk refinery. "The household structures were damaged. The fire on the area of 50 square metres has already been liquidated. According to preliminary data, two people were injured," the operational headquarters noted.

Drones were also shot down in the Temryuksky, Yeysk and Seversk districts of the Krasnodar Territory, writes the Baza telegram channel. Several drones were shot down in Afipsky district, where the Afipsky oil refinery is located.

An employee of a boiler house in Krasnodar was killed in a night attack, Kondratiev said. A total of four people were injured due to the fall of the drone debris, the operative headquarters specified.

The Russian Defence Ministry reported the destruction of a total of 114 drones overnight. According to the military department, 70 drones were intercepted over Crimea and the Black Sea, 43 over Krasnodar Krai, and one over the Volgograd region.

The publication of The Moscow Times notes that the Ilsk refinery is one of the largest oil refining complexes in southern Russia. The refinery's production capacity for 2022 was up to 6.6 million tonnes of oil per year. Ukraine has attacked the refinery twice since the beginning of the year - in early February and late April.
